Editorial standards
The rules by which the EDMONT Journal checks its facts, dates its material and corrects its mistakes.
Who writes
The material is prepared by the bureau’s editorial team
The Journal is written by the EDMONT editorial team: the same people who handle admissions work. The material is therefore built around the question an applicant actually faces at a given stage, not around a search query.
The by-line is collective, and deliberately so: what stands behind an article is the check against the sources, not the authority of a name. What can be verified is the links and the dates, and both are given in every article.
The rules
Six rules that govern every article

Primary sources, not second-hand accounts
Requirements, deadlines and amounts come from the universities, ministries, visa authorities and admissions operators themselves: UCAS, Common App, uni-assist, Studielink, DAAD, Campus France. Other consultancies and aggregator sites do not count as sources.

Every check is dated
Every article and every country page carries the date of its last check. Admission cycles change the rules each year, so an undated fact is of no use: there is no way to tell whether it still holds.

Figures are not rounded in our favour
Where a source gives a range, the range is published. Where an amount depends on the region, the university or the student’s circumstances, that is stated plainly rather than reduced to a single attractive figure.

We do not promise outcomes
Admission is decided by the admissions committee and the visa by the consulate. No intermediary influences either. The phrase “guaranteed admission” does not appear in EDMONT’s materials.

Corrections are visible, not quiet
When the rules change, the article is updated and the date of the update changes with the text. We do not quietly rewrite earlier material as though it had never said anything else.

No paid placements
EDMONT does not sell mentions of universities and takes no commission for placing a particular institution on a shortlist. The list of programmes follows the applicant’s profile.

Tell us: we will correct it and date the correction
If a requirement has changed or an article is inaccurate, write to edmont.buro@bk.ru with a link to the page. We check it against the primary source and correct the article itself, not a note beneath it.
